Green Soup - prescription in a bowl

I came up with a recipe after watching the Mitochondria you-tube Ted talk with Dr. Terry Wahls who reversed her MS with diet (worth watching) I tested it last night. It was yummy. Green asparagus soup which I used to make with just asparagus because of its angiogenesis properties (look that up on google please) I have now added a few things.

Here it is:
1/2 bunch asparagus, 1 stalk celery, 1/2 zuccinni pealed, 1/2 teaspoonful kelp powder, Soma salt ( good salt with lots of minerals from clean rock mines) to taste. Cut these all to 1 inch pieces so that they will fit in your blender or food processor easily. Saute with your spice mix and 1 teaspoonful of ghee. You can actually saute the spices first and then add veggies - but be sure not to burn the spices - just a minute or less to get the aroma of the spices moving. No these are not hot spices but cooling spices that reduce inflammation and support liver and kidney. Add just enough water - about 1 c or less. Cook for about 2 minute or 3 - watch the veggies they will get more green and alive looking - When they are just green enough blend them with 1 teaspoonful of Sesame butter or other favorite nut butter. You can also add the home made cheese call paneer or even add a wallop of organic yogurt for the probiotics. Eat immediately. If the veggies are there and all the ingredients are easily accessible because of good planning and set up of your kitchen you can have this soup in you plate in less than 10 minutes.

I had this last night as my light supper.

I am sending this as an alternative for winter squash soup. Winter squashes - are hubbard, acorn etc - those hard squashes that last a long time. They are wonderful but do have a tendency to shrink the shrotas ( the term shrota mean arteries and veins) which we want to keep open and flexible and limber)

This recipe is satisfying - also when you wake up the next morning - feel your body - do you notice your liver ( on the right side) singing or letting you know its there - I did. It is working to get the toxins out and build intelligent blood!!!! It will make both the traditional Ayurvedic practitioners happy who encourage cooked food and also the raw food people happy who encourage uncooked food- because you are just cooking things enough to start the enzymatic action and start to break down the cellulose so that it is easier for your body to digest and assimilate the nutrients and pranic forces of the food. It is important to note here that Ayurvedic protocol encourages cooking the food but also eating it immediately - no left overs!!! no re-heating!!!- Impossible you say, well no, it is possible, it just takes planning.

Enjoy!
