I just had a friend call and say that she was recovering from surgery and that the bruising was major and that the healing was progressing more slowly than she expected.

The following recommendation is not from any Ayurvedic source but from life experience of my mother and one of her older friends who was a wonderful healer. I have tested this on myself with bruises and it works like a charm.

You take Comfrey Root and Aloe Vera leaves and blend them together. If you are fortunate enough to have a Comfrey plant in you back yard and an Aloe plant in your kitchen - you are all set. However if not - you can find Comfrey Root dehydrated in health food stores or Whole Foods - you have to use the root as apposed to the leaves because it is more mucilaginous whereas the leaves have those little prickly things that can irritate the skin. Once you have a good supply of either dry powder Comfrey Root or fresh root chopped up, you can then blend it with the Aloe Vera leaf. Once you have a mushy mixture that is like a jello consistency - you can add a few drops of Black Walnut Extract (this is optional as only the Comfrey and Aloe work well also)

Take the mixture and spread it on a flannel cloth that you can then apply to your bruised area. You can change the poultice every 6 or 12 hours. My experience is that once I took the poultice off - I was amazed that the bruise was significantly reduced.

This is an amazing old remedy and not only does it help bruising but also helps inflamed joints and also speeds up the healing of broken bones. The other name for Comfrey is "Bone Knit"

Just to add a bit of energy healing to the process, once you put on the poultice just lie down and visualize all the cells opening up and receiving the healing intelligence of these wonderful plants that are a gift from Mother Nature the greatest healer.
