restless leg

Someone was asking about restless leg syndrome.

The allopathic approach for restless legs is to use the same drugs that are used for parkinson's disease, Levodopa/carbidopa. Sometimes they help and sometimes they don't. These drugs work for those who are depleted in dopamine. However they work for a 10 year period and then the person is usually left in a sitaution worse than before because underlying cause of the disease was not addressed and dopamine was replaced artificially.

I first saw a connection between legs and parkinson's when I was researching Parkinson's disease and found a website http://www.pdrecovery.org/ that was an online book written by a doctor of chinese medicine. She was treating many parkinson's patients and found that many of them had had a foot injury and that the liver meridians were compromized. This made me think that it was the blockage of energy flow to the legs that was creating the restless legs and that is was a neurological disorder in its early stages. This was a sign that something was amiss and needed to be addressed.

If caught in the early stages some cases responded to liquid Calcium/Magnesium supplements. If it was a mineral deficiency the benefits would be almost immediate. However in other cases it could be that the meridians were blocked due to faulty diet or there was scar tissue that was blocking a bioenergetic point ( called marma point in Ayurved) or acupuncture point in Chinese medicine. If there was blockage then the flow of life force or prana was blocked and the legs were trying to move to get flow back. Please pay attention to me they are saying.

So this problem has to be approached from many sides: improving diet that is high in minerals and vital fresh food, getting plenty of rest by going to bed on time so that vitality is not depleted. This will help to remove toxins that block the energy channels: ama (undigested food) or amavisha ( chemical toxins) or even the EMF toxicity that is become more and more common. These all can contribute to blocked flow. Also Vata which is responsible for all flow in the body can be out of balance especially one of the subcategories of Vata called Apana Vata that pulls energy downward in the body. Other symptoms that would accompany this imbalance would be constipation and menstrual disorders.

I have herbs at my disposal that help to unblock the energy channels in the legs by applying the transdermally to the bioenergetic points of marmas. Also dietary recommendation that would increase vitality and open the channels.
